ABOUT US

OUR VISION

Building Better Communities Through the Arts

Our Mission:

ArtHouse levels the artistic playing field by providing accessible and innovative cost-free extra-curricular arts programs led by professional instructors for children aged 7-12, Take Five leadership programs for youth 13-17, and Take Sixty-Five arts programs for seniors. Children that may not have access to fee-related programs are considered first through the ArtHouse Front of the Line Program Registration Policy.

ArtHouse Programs can hold the key for children, youth and seniors at risk, for those who may need to seek a secure, friendly, supportive and safe haven, to deal better with stress, anxiety, feelings of alienation, social and academic pressures - there are strong measurable outcomes demonstrating that participation in the arts supports positive mental health and social inclusion and improves communication and social skills and an ability to overcome difficulties in a non-competitive environment.

Our History:

Since 2009, more than 60 ArtHouse recruited, paid and highly skilled professional Instructors have placed the power of the arts into the hands of more than 5,000 vulnerable children, youth and seniors that have little or no discretionary income to afford fee-related arts programs.

Working with over 50 collaborative partners, ArtHouse has delivered 300 cost-free multi-disciplined programs from visual arts, to music, to theatre performance, to drama and improv, to fashion design and garden education at over 30 strategically chosen accessible locations in Burlington, Oakville and Milton.
